Casca
Initially, one-year-old Casca was a little shy, especially around men, but she’s made amazing strides! She now warms up quickly with gentle encouragement and a treat or two. She takes walks with her foster, showing off a few tail wags and gladly accepting pets, and her grooming has gone well, with her mats brushed out and her coat looking beautiful.
Casca’s playful side shines on her mini park days, where she zips around the open space like a pro, showing just how fast she can go! She’s a fantastic car companion, loving her view from the window. While she’s not a fan of the crate, she’s well-behaved when left out. Casca is wonderfully gentle with food and toys and will patiently share her space and attention.

Grizzy
Grizzy is a two-year-old Chow mix looking for his forever family. Though he seems to have some past trauma, with patience, Grizzy is learning that not all people are cruel. He is incredibly gentle with his foster’s mini schnauzer, letting him play 'tough guy' without minding a bit. Grizzy is best suited to a home with someone young and active who can help him safely explore the world again. He is not compatible with cats. With the right person, he’ll be the most loyal companion.

Chow Mein
Chow Mein is a loving, affection-seeking, six-year-old Chow. A handsome cream, Chow Mein loves his toys, and is leaning into his playful side. He especially loves gazing out the windows, keeping track of pesky squirrels! He is well-behaved in the house, and while unsure around new people (he might let out a protective bark at the door), he is friendly to and approaches strangers who show up.
Chow Mein loves his walks and enjoys being part of the action. He’s not a fan of being crated or left alone in the yard, and might express his frustration with a little whine. In the long run, Chow Mein is comfortable around other dogs in group settings but may growl if another dog gets too close to his face. He does have some protective food behaviors—he’s not a fan of sharing chews. Honestly, sharing sweet treats is tough for many of us! Chow Mein would make a fantastic addition to the right family.

Chula
Meet 5-year-old Chula! Here’s what we’ve learned about Chula so far:
- Lounge Queen: Chula’s favorite spot is the couch, where she spends most of her day relaxing and soaking in her surroundings.
- Dog Friendly: She’s been fantastic with the other dogs in her foster home. While she doesn’t hesitate to let high-energy pups know when they’re too much, she’s adjusted beautifully to dogs of all sizes and genders.
- Cat Approved: Chula is completely unbothered by cats and shows no interest in them.
- True Chow Attitude: Mature and independent, Chula embodies the classic Chow spirit. She’s smart and prefers to do things on her own terms.
- Leash Skills: She walks well on a leash but might resist if she doesn’t like the direction she’s being led.
- Escape Artist Extraordinaire: Wood picket fences or weak gates won’t stop her from exploring. While she doesn’t go far and always returns, a secure yard is a must for this curious girl.
- Low-Maintenance Love: Chula warms up to people quickly. Though she’s independent and doesn’t need constant attention, she loves being petted and praised when the mood strikes!
Chula is a true gem of a Chow— a confident, independent, and loving companion looking for her perfect match.

Tikka
Tikka is a petite Chow with boundless puppy energy and a heart full of sweetness (and check out that cute underbite!). She’s learning quickly how to interact with other dogs, and it’s a joy to see her enthusiasm for play, especially with her foster's pack. Around people, she’s nothing but affectionate and eager to connect.
While Tikka has a few quirks, they’re nothing she can’t handle. She’s wary of men, but each day brings small victories as she learns to trust. She has some food-guarding tendencies with dogs (though not with humans), so her foster mom is working on creating a calm and structured environment during mealtime. She’s great on a leash, and her eagerness to please makes her progress both rewarding and exciting to witness.
Tikka’s story is one of growth: Her playful personality is shining through as she becomes more confident and socialized. She’s a little spark of joy, and with time, patience, and love, Tikka is well on her way to becoming the amazing dog she’s meant to be.

Siri
Siri is a very sweet 2-year-old Chow mix who is eager to please and loves to play with other dogs! She also knows how to settle down and relax in her crate, giving you the best of both worlds. She is a little shy but is getting more confident on a daily basis.
She does play a little rough with her doggy companions, but she takes correction from other dogs very well. Due to her timid nature, she is cautious around cats and may be fine with a feline sibling with proper introductions. If you are looking for a good snuggle buddy on the couch while you watch your favorite TV show, Siri is the girl for you.

Guthrie
Guthrie is an affectionate red Chow with a personality that’s larger than life. He’s incredibly friendly, always ready to greet you with enthusiasm, and loves nothing more than being close to his people. While he’s a bit barkier than most Chows, it’s just his way of expressing his excitement and zest for life!
Guthrie thrives with familiar faces - his experience with other dogs beyond his kennel pal Gordo is limited, so he’s still figuring out those dynamics. With a bit of patience and understanding, this energetic and loving boy is sure to bring boundless joy to the lucky family who opens their home to him.
