Suki

Suki has reached a wonderful milestone — she’s feeling good, healing beautifully, and ready to find her forever home. After thorough veterinary care, it was discovered that Suki had suffered past head trauma that caused swelling, infection, and discomfort. Once a hidden bone fragment was removed, her body began to heal almost immediately — and the change has been remarkable.

Today, Suki is brighter, more comfortable, happier, more playful, and clearly feeling like herself again. While she still has follow-up care and possible specialty treatment ahead, she’s in a stable place and ready to move forward into a loving home where she can continue healing surrounded by care and consistency.

Suki is a gentle, resilient girl with a calm spirit and a sweet heart. She’s handled everything thrown her way with grace and trust, and she’s ready for a new chapter filled with safety and love.

Suki is currently being fostered in Austin, TX.

Lucky Bucky

Meet Lucky Bucky, the adorable young pup with the floppy puppy ears that everyone instantly falls in love with!  At about a year old and 44 lbs, he’s a great medium size — perfect for adventures, walks, and plenty of couch snuggles.

Lucky Bucky is a happy, affectionate boy who seems to carry sunshine wherever he goes. With his sweet nature and playful spirit, he’s the kind of dog who just wants to be near his people and soak up all the love he can get.

He’s heartworm negative and ready to start the next chapter of his life with a family of his very own. Recently he had to get a shave around his neck, and the shelter also had to clean off a black tar-like substance that was stuck in his fur around his neck, backside, and paws. Because of that cleanup and grooming, you might notice his coat looks a little uneven right now — like the extra fluff on his cheek. That’s simply from the grooming process and his beautiful mane and coat will grow back in with time!

For now, we think it just adds a little extra character to this already charming boy.

Lucky Bucky is currently being fostered in Red Oak, IA.

Bobcat

Bobcat is the kind of dog who keeps life interesting. Equal parts goofy, independent, and charming, he's looking for a home that can match his energy and appreciation for adventure.

When Bobcat first arrived, shelter stress and boredom likely played a big role in his behavior. As he's settled into foster care, his true personality has come shining through.

Today, he's a happy, silly boy who loves attention, enjoys playtime, and has become increasingly affectionate with the people he trusts. One of his favorite hobbies? Bringing rocks to his people and insisting they be thrown. Balls are fine. Sticks are okay. But rocks? Those are the real prize. (PSA: No rocks were swallowed in the training of this pup!)

Highlights:

• Happy, goofy personality

• Loves adventures and staying active

• Becoming more snuggly and affectionate every day

• Smart and engaged

• Shows positive interest in meeting other dogs

• Food and treat motivated

• Thrives when given attention, enrichment, and things to do

Bobcat is a classic Chow in many ways. He enjoys companionship but also likes doing his own thing. The bond you build with him feels earned, making those moments when he asks for affection even more special.

His ideal home will be one that keeps him mentally and physically engaged. Whether that's walks, hikes, training, yard time, or daily adventures, Bobcat is happiest when he's included and has an outlet for his energy. Bobcat is ready for a family that appreciates his personality, respects his independence, and is excited to make him part of their everyday adventures.

Bobcat is currently being fostered in San Marcos, TX.

Stacy Dash

At 2 years old and 38 pounds, Stacy is a wonderfully well-behaved Chow girl who prefers cozy afternoons over outdoor adventures. She's the definition of a couch potato and would be happiest with someone who enjoys a slower pace of life, a comfortable sofa, and a loyal companion nearby.

Highlights:

- Dog friendly

- Not cat friendly

- Kid friendly (12+ years old)

- Has some mobility limitations from previous orthopedic injuries

Personality:

Stacy is everything many people love about Chows. She's intelligent, observant, independent, and deeply loyal once she trusts you. She enjoys companionship but doesn't need constant entertainment and is perfectly content spending her day relaxing near her people.

She appreciates routine, respects personal space, and forms strong bonds with those she loves. Stacy isn't demanding, but she absolutely notices everything happening around her and likes to keep tabs on her household from her favorite lounging spot. Like many Chows, she prefers quality time over chaos and would thrive with someone who appreciates a thoughtful, breed-savvy companion.

Fun Fact:

Stacy has mastered the art of dramatically sighing whenever life becomes mildly inconvenient. She also has an uncanny ability to position herself in the exact spot you need to walk through—and somehow make it seem like you're the one causing the problem.

Stacy Dash is currently being fostered in Oklahoma City, OK.

Poppet

Meet Poppet, a petite 4-year-old girl who greets life with a happy attitude and a wagging tail. Her energy has returned, her personality is shining, and even the hair that some feared might never grow back is making a comeback.

Poppet loves car rides, walks, tasty treats, and most of all, being adored. She is affectionate, dainty, and full of charm. The same little girl who spent weeks recovering in isolation now lights up when she gets attention and is ready to enjoy every adventure life has to offer. Though she is low-to moderate energy, she has plenty of short zoomies around the yard!

She has made dog friends along the way and enjoys playtime, while also politely letting others know when she's had enough. She's learning that the world is a safe place again, and every day she grows a little more confident.

Poppet is currently being fostered in Red Oak, IA.

Hardy

Hardy is a young Chow mix who’s gone from stray to thriving—and he’s ready for his forever home. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention, he just fits into your life with ease.

At about 1–1.5 years old, Hardy is the perfect mix of playful and calm. He enjoys walks, dog friends, and being near his people, but he’s just as happy relaxing at home or quietly keeping you company while you work.

Highlights:

• Dog friendly and enjoys canine companions

• Cat compatibility unknown

• ~62 lbs and still filling out

• Knows “sit,” “shake,” and even “smile”

• Walks well on leash (unless squirrels appear)

• Great at the vet

Personality:

Hardy is sweet, affectionate, and easy to live with. He settles in quickly, enjoys attention without being pushy, and is happiest just being near his people or dog friends. Smart, observant, and adaptable, he brings a calm, steady presence to everyday life.

Fun Fact:

Hardy has appointed himself Assistant Facebook Monitor—usually found behind a chair supervising your scrolling and doubling as a professional-grade foot warmer.

If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion with an easygoing heart and a soft spot for routine and connection, Hardy may be your perfect match.

Hardy is currently being fostered in Fairmont, OK.

Rizzy

If you're looking for a young Chow with a sweet, gentle nature, Rizzy may be your girl. At just 1 year old and 44 pounds, Rizzy is a quiet companion who loves affection once she knows you're a friend. Neck scratches are her favorite, and she'll happily lean against you for attention and love. She also enjoys being around other dogs and is always interested in making new canine friends.

Highlights:

- Excellent house manners

- Never soils her crate

- Interested in other dogs

Personality:

Rizzy is a classic young Chow—gentle, observant, and thoughtful. She prefers to take a little time getting to know new people and can be shy when approached by strangers. She may bark or huff at unfamiliar people at first, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality quickly comes through.

She is currently knocking leash training out of the park and becoming more confident around new people. Every day she continues to show just how loving and affectionate she can be with those she trusts! Rizzy is looking for a family that appreciates the special bond Chows are known for—one built on trust, patience, and loyalty.

Rizzy is currently being fostered in Longview, TX.
