Looking at him now, you wouldn’t know it, but Major’s journey here hasn’t been easy. Rescued from the Dallas Shelter just in time, he was labeled as “difficult.” But when he came to us, this “challenging” dog was gentle as could be, taking treats so softly and giving the sweetest kisses.
Today, Major is safe with his foster family in Oklahoma, and he’s blossomed. He’s about 70 pounds of pure, joyful energy—a mix of Chow spirit and maybe a touch of Golden Retriever or Lab playfulness. He loves everyone who comes to visit, men and women, and kids who can handle his size. Cats are a question mark for him though, as he’s got a playful urge to chase squirrels. He’s smart too, and does his best to be well-behaved.
Major deserves a home where he’ll be seen for the wonderful, loving soul he truly is. If you’re someone who believes in second chances and can offer a gentle hand, Major is waiting to meet you. He’s ready for his forever home, a place where he can finally relax and just be the incredible dog he’s meant to be.
Major is currently located in Tulsa, OK.

Initially, one-year-old Casca was a little shy, especially around men, but she’s made amazing strides! She now warms up quickly with gentle encouragement and a treat or two. She takes walks with her foster, showing off a few tail wags and gladly accepting pets, and her grooming has gone well, with her mats brushed out and her coat looking beautiful.
Casca’s playful side shines on her mini park days, where she zips around the open space like a pro, showing just how fast she can go! She’s a fantastic car companion, loving her view from the window. While she’s not a fan of the crate, she’s well-behaved when left out. Casca is wonderfully gentle with food and toys and will patiently share her space and attention.
We can arrange transportation for the perfect family, so no matter where you are, Casca could be by your side soon. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal, and affectionate companion, Casca is ready to fill that spot in your life. Don’t miss out on this sweet shadow pup!
Casca is currently located in San Antonio, TX.
Grizzy is a two-year-old Chow mix looking for his forever family. Though he seems to have some past trauma, with patience, Grizzy is learning that not all people are cruel. He is incredibly gentle with his foster’s mini schnauzer, letting him play 'tough guy' without minding a bit. Grizzy is best suited to a home with someone young and active who can help him safely explore the world again. He is not compatible with cats. With the right person, he’ll be the most loyal companion.
Grizzy deserves a happy ending. If you’re ready to show him the love he’s been missing, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today to give Grizzy the forever home he’s been waiting for.
Grizzy is currently located in Little Rock, AR.
Tio’s story is truly unique. His previous owner shared that Tio has a remarkable ability to detect seizures—a skill that often defines a service dog. While we don’t have formal confirmation of his training, his owner described him as a loyal and life-saving companion. Tio’s intuitive nature and bond with humans make him one of a kind, and we can’t wait to see the impact he’ll have on his future family.
Here’s what we’ve learned about Tio so far:
- Calm, low-energy, and non-reactive. He’s wonderful with other dogs and even gets along with cats!
- Quiet and gentle, loves affection, and approaches other dogs with curiosity but respect.
Tio is a truly special soul, and his story is a reminder of the loyalty and intelligence Chows are known for.

Gordo, a 2-year-old, 50-pound red Chow, has had quite the journey. Initially given as a gift, Gordo’s life quickly became uncertain when his owner couldn’t care for him properly. Left to wander, Gordo was found as a stray multiple times, until finally, his owner didn’t come for him.
Sadly, this is a story we see all too often—pets being given as gifts without considering the long-term responsibility. But now, Gordo is safe and looking for a family who will give him the love and stability he truly deserves.
