Fleetwood Mac
When Mac first arrived in foster care, she needed time to decompress and learn that she was finally safe. Her foster let her move at her own pace, never rushing the process, and watching her confidence blossom has been such a joy.
Today, Mac is a loving, loyal companion who has truly settled into foster life. She has a big bark, especially when she's in her crate, and can sound much tougher than she really is. Most of the time, she's simply letting everyone know she's ready to come out and spend time with her people! Anyone else have a chow like this?!
Like many Chow Chows, Mac is thoughtful about who she lets into her circle. She's made wonderful progress with other dogs and now enjoys playing with her look-alike foster sister, Rizzy, after slow, respectful introductions.
She is selective with canine companions and has shown a preference for female dogs, along with a dislike for males. Because of this, we believe she'd thrive either as an only dog or with a calm, compatible female who respects her boundaries.
She's doing great with her crate routine, is making excellent progress on leash, and every now and then can't resist throwing in a happy little zoomie before remembering she's supposed to be walking.
Mac isn't looking for someone who expects instant perfection. She's looking for someone who understands that trust is built with patience, consistency, and kindness. If you're willing to give her that gift, she'll repay you with one of the most rewarding bonds you'll ever experience. At just 37 pounds, she's the perfect size to fit into your home—and, eventually, your heart.

Patty
Remember Patty, the sweet mama of the Burger Bunch? After being rescued from a Dallas shelter with her puppies, Patty spent months doing the most important job: raising her babies. Well, every single puppy has found their forever home, and Patty has finally had time to just be Patty — and she is absolutely THRIVING.
After giving her puppies her whole world, Patty deserves a family where she gets to be the baby. She’s becoming very, very soft, loves attention, and is showing us more of her playful personality every day. She recently met Cricket, Starburst, and Mocha, and we were thrilled to see her playing chase and even wrestling with the girls!
Patty does have one funny little quirk: she likes to invite other dogs to play by “nipping” at them. We’ve now seen her interact with enough dogs to know this is her goofy way of initiating play, not an attempt to hurt them.
She carefully gauges her distance and, when she does make contact, it’s more of a little nose boop than a bite. Then she usually zooms away hoping they’ll chase her! She does the same thing with her foster dad’s beard when she gets excited — apparently that’s her version of saying, “LET’S PLAY!”
Because this behavior could be startling, especially around children or dogs who don’t understand her play style, Patty will need a family willing to learn her quirks and continue helping her with appropriate play.

Reiner
Meet Reiner — a smart, spunky guy who is eager to please and even more eager to find his person!
Reiner is a super sweet, cuddly guy with a fun personality. He loves his people, loves his toys, and already has quite the résumé of good-boy skills. He knows sit, shake, settle, and kennel, and because he’s so eager to please, we think continued training will be a great way for him to bond with his future family.
Mention the leash? Reiner comes running! He enjoys walks and car rides, and while he can get a little enthusiastic on leash, he listens well and knows how to wait when asked.
He’s also been a rockstar in his kennel. He settles nicely and enjoys having his treats, bones, and other special goodies there. Reiner is still working on his doggy social skills.

Reiner is an absolute sweetheart — affectionate, cuddly, playful, and ready to be someone’s best buddy. He’s looking for a family who will give him structure, continue his training, and love that spunky Reiner personality!

Kong
At just one year old, Kong is a happy, affectionate, curious boy who is ready to find his very own person. He's got the sweetest smile, a cuddly side, plenty of puppy energy, and an adorable little tail nubbin that makes him even more special.
Kong's story comes with a little extra baggage, and we want to be upfront about what that means for his future family. When Kong was younger, he developed an infection in his tail that ultimately required amputation. Unfortunately, the infection appears to have caused nerve damage that affects his bladder and bowel control. He's been evaluated by a neurologist, and at this point, his incontinence is considered permanent. Otherwise, Kong is a happy, healthy boy who is ready to enjoy life!
So, what does life with Kong look like? He wears a belly band indoors to help manage urine drips, and he's also done well wearing full diapers. His future family will need to be comfortable with the extra cleanup, diaper changes, and general management that come with a dog who cannot reliably control when or where he goes potty. A fenced yard would be ideal, giving him the freedom to go outside without relying on a leash for every potty break.
Now for the fun stuff, because there is SO much to love about this boy! A total sweetheart: Kong is cuddly, affectionate, and almost always sporting that happy Chow smile. He did wonderfully at both of his vet visits with his foster family, charming the staff and veterinarians along the way.
A playful friend: He gets along great with other dogs and loves to play! He's still young and can sometimes get a little rough and vocal during playtime, but he takes correction well when another dog lets him know he's overdoing it. He'd love a canine companion who enjoys a good play session and can communicate their boundaries.
An explorer at heart: Kong loves the dog park, sniffing around, and checking out everything the world has to offer. Daily walks, outdoor adventures, and opportunities to socialize and explore will help him burn off that youthful energy.
Cat-compatible, with a caveat: Kong has done well around cats, but he thinks chasing and barking at them is a pretty entertaining game. Any feline housemates should be confident, dog-savvy cats who won't be easily intimidated by his enthusiasm.
We're looking for someone who understands that Kong's incontinence is a lifelong commitment, has realistic expectations about the extra care involved, and sees the wonderful dog behind those needs. Someone with a little extra patience, a good sense of humor, and plenty of love to give could make all the difference in this boy's life.
In return, they'll get a joyful, affectionate, playful young Chow who wants to be part of the fun, share his love, and explore the world right alongside his people.

Timothee Chowlemet
Timothee just turned ONE! This handsome boy is the perfect mix of goofy puppy and gentle, constant companion. He’s affectionate, easygoing, and has that special Chow loyalty that makes you feel chosen.
WHAT MAKES HIM SPECIAL
Tim is a low-key sweetheart who loves quality chew toys, playing tag, and running with his dog friends. He’s a gentle, loving boy who is still building confidence with new people.
When shy or unsure, his go-to response is to flop onto his back and offer his belly for pets! Rather than fighting or running away, he tends to freeze and roll over. It’s his way of coping with uncertainty, so he’ll benefit from people who let him approach new experiences at his own pace.
IDEAL HOME
Tim could make a wonderful companion for a family with older, dog-savvy children or as part of a compatible dog pack. He appreciates someone who will give him time to adjust to new things and give him a backyard for playtime. Crate trained and house trained!
PLAY STYLE

-Enjoys moderate play, running, tag, and sharing toys with familiar dogs

STILL LEARNING
Tim may gently mouth hands when excited or seeking affection. He doesn’t bite down, pull, or use his teeth, but this behavior is still a work in progress and may not suit homes with small children.
Leash walking is also new to him! He may pull or flop down when unsure. With patience and positive reinforcement, he can build confidence and learn that walks are a good thing.

Rufus
Meet Rufus — 100 lbs of Big Baby! Rufus may be a 100-lb Chow Mix, but his foster says he’s basically a big, shy couch potato. He has that classic Chow independence — he’s perfectly happy doing his own thing, hanging out with the other dogs, and deciding for himself when he’d like some attention. But call him over for pets? He’ll happily come see you.
And this big boy has some seriously impressive manners!
- AMAZING on leash — intuitive, thoughtful, and great at navigating gates and obstacles
- Dog friendly with chill dogs — he can get overwhelmed by pushy dogs or too much activity
- Very cat safe so far — little interest in the resident cat and no prey-drive reaction to zoomies
- Very chill energy — mostly a couch potato and may even be a good apartment candidate
- Sweet and sensitive — looks to his person for reassurance when he feels overwhelmed

Rufus isn't looking to be the life of the party. He'd rather have a calm environment, a few good walks, some cozy couch time, and a person who understands that sometimes a Chow just wants to hang out near you instead of being all over you.
And honestly? There is something pretty special about a giant dog who, when he escaped his kennel once, didn't go looking for trouble... He simply laid against the door where his foster was and waited.
Big. Quiet. Independent. A little shy. And apparently just a big baby underneath all that fluff.
