At just 1 year old and 43 lbs, Kylo is already proving what a brave, resilient soul he is. After leaving the Garland Shelter behind, this sweet boy is now decompressing and showing his true colors — playful, loving, and full of life.
He’s been the perfect gentleman with his foster pack (especially his pittie pal, Monica) and sailed through his neuter like a champ. In true Kylo fashion, he’s also shown his clever side — managing a few great escapes from his cone!
Kylo’s charm shines brightest in the little moments — when he gently asks for attention, trots proudly beside his friends, or gives that “thank you” look that says he knows he’s safe.
Kylo is currently being fostered in Angleton, TX.

Cosmo is a 5-year-old, 51-lb neutered blue Chow who is currently decompressing in foster care after being rescued from the shelter. Right now, Cosmo is doing exactly what thoughtful, sensitive dogs do — taking his time. He’s observing his surroundings, settling into routine, and slowly letting his personality shine through. With each day, he shows more confidence and curiosity, revealing a dog with strong instincts, intelligence, and quiet presence.
Cosmo finds comfort in toys and often self-soothes with squeaky noises. He gravitates toward calm, structured energy and appreciates an environment that feels predictable. Each morning, he does a full “perimeter check” inside and outside, making it clear that being aware of his surroundings — and protecting his space — comes naturally to him.
Big Cosmo energy:
- Loves toys and squeaky sounds
- Appreciates calm, respectful dog companions
- Natural guard-dog instincts
- Thrives with structure and confident leadership
Cosmo has done well around other dogs when energy stays mellow, though overly energetic play can make him anxious. He may do best with a laid-back canine companion or as an only dog in the right home. Cosmo has a strong prey drive and is not compatible with cats...We’re also unsure about small dogs at this time.
Cosmo is currently being fostered in Houston, TX.

Meet Oakey, a sweet 11-month-old pup who was saved from euthanasia and given a second chance at life. Oakey’s story isn’t perfect, but it’s real — and it shows just how resilient he is. He came into rescue after being found in a rough situation, but despite everything he’s been through, he’s still capable of love, affection, and kisses — he’s already started giving them to his foster.
Oakey’s Highlights
- Sweet & affectionate
- Decompressing and doing great
- Accidentally met a cat with no reaction
- Loves people and is starting to trust again
- Needs a calm, patient home
What He Needs
Oakey is still learning that people can be kind. He’ll need a patient, loving home who understands that healing takes time — but he already has the heart of a good dog.
Oakey is currently being fostered in Dallas, TX.

Some days, the energy just feels softer — and Pringles fits right into that calm. On mellow afternoons, all he wants is a little time outside to sniff the air, take in his surroundings, and settle in to watch the chickens before curling up for a nap on the back step.
Pringles is wonderfully easygoing and well-mannered outdoors. He enjoys his time outside without digging or being destructive, content to relax and quietly observe the world around him. When he hears the chickens or pigs behind the play yard, he’ll slowly wander over with calm curiosity, watch for a bit, and then return to his nap like it’s all part of the routine.
He’s also shown that he can enjoy the company of other dogs — recently making a mellow, laid-back male friend. Pringles was happy to sniff and say hello before heading back to his favorite pastime: chicken-watching.
And of course, there’s his prized possession — a Kong toy. Anytime someone walks by, Pringles is quick to grab it and proudly show it off, as if to say, “Look what I have.” Pringles would thrive in a home that appreciates a dog who doesn’t need chaos to be happy — just steady routines, gentle companionship, and space to relax.
Pringles is currently being fostered in New Braunfels, Texas.

Meet Cyrus, a happy 1-year-old high Chow mix with a playful heart and a wag that never quits! At just 34 lbs, he’s the perfect mid-size pup — big enough for adventures, small enough for couch cuddles.
Cyrus loves being around other dogs and thrives on playtime and companionship. He’s social, curious, and full of joy — the kind of boy who makes every day brighter.
Now that he’s getting regular meals, love, and a safe space to be himself, Cyrus is blossoming beautifully. All he needs next is a forever family to share it with.
Cyrus is currently being fostered in Austin, TX.

High above in the clouds of imagination, a little flock of pups was born under the gentle care of their momma on August 1, 2025. Now these sky-kissed adventurers are ready for their forever homes!
Meet Swift!
The smallest of the bunch, with a dark coat that shimmers with golden highlights. This little lovebug is pure sweetness. He’s not a fan of the leash yet, so we’re taking it slow while he learns the ropes.
Fun fact: DNA testing shows the Skyborne pups are approximately 60% Chow Chow, 25% Supermutt, and 12% Lab, with a hint of Pit Bull and German Shepherd — a beautiful blend of brains, loyalty, and heart.
The Skyborne pups were born August 1, 2025.
Swift is currently being fostered in Hallsville, TX.

Some dogs come into rescue quietly… and then immediately wrap themselves around your heart. That’s Starburst.
This tiny girl may be small in size, but her spirit is enormous. At just about 1 year old and 31 lbs, Starburst has already lived through more than any dog should. She was found chained behind a home with several other dogs and somehow survived freezing conditions before animal control rescued her. When she arrived at the shelter, she was emaciated and covered in fleas — yet through it all, she never stopped being happy.
Her tail still wiggles nonstop. Her trust in people never broke.
And what everyone notices first?
- Her adorable pure black tongue
- Her tiny size
- Her constant desire to be close to her humans
Starburst is the definition of a love bug. She wants nothing more than to climb into your lap, soak up affection, and finally belong to someone who will never leave her behind again.
So far she has shown herself to be:
- Great with kids
- Cat approved
- Friendly with other dogs
- Extremely people-focused and affectionate
She isn’t looking for perfection — just a safe home, soft place to land, and someone who will love her as much as she loves them.
Starburst is currently being fostered in Austin, TX.

Ripley — The Life-of-the-Party Velcro Boy (and yes… He Loves Cats!)
If you could invite one dog to a party just to make sure everyone had a good time… it would be Ripley. This happy, affectionate boy brings joy wherever he goes — equal parts playful companion, gentle observer, and cuddle expert.
And one of Ripley’s most special qualities? He is CAT FRIENDLY! We have videos showing Ripley interacting calmly and respectfully with cats and other dogs — making him a rare find for homes looking to add a dog to an existing furry family.
About Ripley:
- 1 year old
- 60 lbs
- Sweet, affectionate Velcro dog who loves his people
- Plays happily with other dogs — then chooses to relax and “observe” the fun
- Goes happily into his crate to unwind and relax
- Eats his meals with enthusiasm but has lovely manners (no begging!)
- Cat friendly — verified and rare!

A small bump in Ripley’s journey:
